Requested Changes to Colorado Springs’ No Action A revised No Action Alternative for Colorado Springs was developed due to recently-identified limitations in well production rates for the Denver Basin Aquifer portion of the originally proposed No Action Alternative. While Colorado Springs investigated possible revisions to the No Action Alternative, it determined that Alternative 7 (the Highway 115 Alternative) could also be modified to reflect recent information. On January 24, 2007 Colorado Springs made a request to the Bureau of Reclamation to revise the No Action Alternative and Alternative 7. The request letter describes the requested revisions and their basis. The request letter also included a map of the revised No Action Alternative and a map of the revised Alternative 7 Reclamation’s Response On February 9, 2007, Reclamation responded to Colorado Springs' request in a letter. Reclamation accepted the proposed changes subject to several comments. Because of public interest in planned indirect potable water reuse, which was a primary component of the Colorado Springs’ original No Action Alternative, Reclamation will develop and analyze a new alternative that includes potable reuse for Colorado Springs.
